Parent Handbook and Agreement


Children and families are our clients and choose family day care for a range of reasons including small multi age groups, community involvement and an educational program that’s delivered from a home environment.

The parent handbook is a reference for families of what their role is in the service to ensure the educator can meet their child’s needs within their legal obligations.  Informed families assist in keeping children safe and forms agreements between themselves and the service.

Families using this handbook will:

  • Know their obligations
  • Be able to follow Risk Management Plans to protect all children
  • Know who is allowed to be in the presence of their children
  • Know what records to complete and expect in return
  • Who to notify in the event of a compliant, incident or emergency

This handbook is a companion to the JPS Family Day Care Policies and Procedures Manual.
